Amanda Schumacher
With more than two decades of experience running communications for leading media industry brands, global issues and personalities as well as renowned authors and start-ups, Amanda’s background spotlights her powerful ability to create a compelling narrative and spark media attention. Amanda is a partner to CEOs, C-suite executives and thought-leaders with a personal passion for brands in the women’s leadership and lifestyle space.
Through her own consultancy, Amanda lent strategy, media relations and event programming expertise to brands including Rent the Runway, Vanity Fair, and Après, a site she helped launch for women looking to reenter the workforce. She is known for her mastery in creating strong launch programs for nonfiction books by several authors and her ability to establish these authors as preeminent thought leaders and speakers.
Prior to launching her consultancy, Amanda held the role of Senior Vice President, Communications at The Huffington Post. Working side-by-side with Arianna Huffington, Amanda led the team in consistently making news out of news about the global news brand as well as for Arianna Huffington. She spearheaded the media strategy for Arianna’s number-one New York Times bestselling book, Thrive, as well as the Third Metric conference, created by Arianna and Mika Brzezinski, which led to Arianna’s current business, Thrive Global.
Amanda began her career and spent over a decade at Time Inc., ultimately as Vice President, Communications for the Time Inc. Lifestyle Group. While there, she was instrumental in the transformation of Time Inc.’s iconic brands, like Real Simple, from print magazines into multimedia powerhouse brands.
Amanda is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. A born and bred New Yorker, she currently lives in London with her husband and two daughters.
